Meet the Creator: Conor Johnston

Conor Johnston is the creator behind Oak & Ember — a fragrance house shaped by precision, discipline, and a commitment to crafting atmosphere. His path wasn’t traditional. Before building Oak & Ember, Conor spent years working in roles that demanded patience, resilience, and an understanding of people: Support Worker with Sense Scotland, KEY Housing, and Carewatch, followed by work in Business Administration and Debt Collection. These experiences sharpened his eye for detail and taught him how powerful a calm, controlled environment can be.

Oak & Ember was born from that understanding. Working from Ardrossan on Scotland’s west coast, Conor creates fragrances that carry the mood of the landscape — cold air, dark evenings, quiet interiors, and the warmth you build for yourself. Every product is blended by hand, crafted with intention, and designed to transform a space instantly.

Today, Conor focuses on Sizzlers and Room Sprays, using clean ingredients and a meticulous process to create scents that feel grounded, rich, and unmistakably Oak & Ember. His work is guided by atmosphere, depth, and the belief that fragrance should feel like an experience — not just a smell.
